Lucy joined River as a Senior Product Owner during the middle of the global rollout of a big software tool for our biggest automotive Client. We had multiple development teams and product owners on the project, and a large number of senior stakeholders from across different global regions at the Client’s end. Lucy quickly took the lead of the Product Owner teams, smoothed out multiple conflicting Client requests into a coherent backlog, and helped to steady the ship during what was a very busy and challenging period for River. In doing so she won over the confidence of both colleagues and Clients alike, proving her skills as a Senior Product Owner and manager of relationships at a senior level. Lucy was not afraid to put in the hours to get the team and the process to where it needed to be, and she impressed in doing so. A valuable member of the team for any business!

Key responsibilities included working with JLR on their BI - Business Performance management software. Working with their senior stakeholders from across six global regions (including China) to collate regional and global backlog requirements, together with management of commercial sprints both with customers and the product team. My role as Product Manager evolved over time with River, I introduced and led a transformation process which saw us blend our commercial and product management teams, having people work to their key strengths across product ownership, customer success management, implementation and account management. As well as re-implementing Agile ceremonies, developing strong communication channels at all levels internally and across all of their divisions. Collaboratively lead two Agile development teams of 12 Developers including 2 Technical Architectural leads, and an Agile data development team of 6, utilising approximately 70% of their capacity and a data services Kanban team, as well as Product Owners and Account Managers.
