Job 1. Cultural Resource and Collections Management: 1. Develops, implements, and evaluates long and short term plans for the management of cultural resources including heritage resources, material cultural artefacts, works of art, audio visual resources, computer assisted resources and activities, and historic resources including building heritage, landscape heritage, and archival heritage records, documents and other primary historic resources, including photograph collections. 2. Heritage consultant in aspects of curriculum development, staff development and training, development of historic resources, establishing historic property objectives. Act as consultant in areas of research, writing and revising Heritage property and site management strategies, establishing site objectives, functions and themes and consult on the establishment of interpretive strategies, and plans and yearly operational plans, and site interpretive plans. 3. Manages the provincial collection of cultural heritage resources, works of art, and all aspects of an expanding collection of artefacts of provincial and federal cultural significance at Government House Heritage Property and Museum. This work includes the collecting, preparing, identifying, labelling, accessioning, proper storage and cleaning, preservation, and maintenance (damage control) of textural, textiles, paper, photos, wooden objects, metal objects. 4. Develop policies and procedures for the proper curation of artefact and cultural resources are developed and implemented. This includes determining the use of artefacts in museum programs and assessing the impact of visitor programs on cultural resources to determine the safety of using them for programs. Supervises an interpretive staff of eight regarding collections care, management and historical knowledge. Conduct staff training seminars and sessions regarding historical knowledge, interpretation, and accuracy. Show less
