David Durkee

While in her final year at UEL, due to her exceptional nature, Laura was one of four students to study on a prestigious exchange at the American University in Cairo (AUC). She chose for her dissertation to explore a very original topic, which was the role of Zar spirit practice in the development of Egypt. Further, she was in Egypt in the spring of 2011 and gained a first hand view of the events that took place. At the time, AUC invited her to contribute to a book; recognising her insights and abilities, although she had yet to complete her undergraduate degree. She is articulate and writes very well. A top student and individual.
