I then source a range of options for consideration, help my client narrow them down, and arrange site visits to their preferred choices if required. I was responsible for handling reservations, new events inquiries and both reservation & event cancellations in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner, and quoting available meeting room, wedding, Christmas and bedroom rates to maximize hotel revenue according to the brand standards set by upper management and my hotel manager. This would sometimes involve hotel show arounds and promoting the hotel at wedding fairs for example. In terms of an events coordinator, I had to ensure that everything with an event went smoothly and according to plan by coordinating with suppliers, planning an event from end to end with hotel guests or the wedding couple or delegates and working in a hands-on way as a team leader with the hotel operations team to make sure the event ran to plan.
