I run all the daily business of the Clean Energy Ministerial CCUS Initiative, with the steer of the co-leads and serving all members. We have thirteen member countries and several other partner organisations with whom we meet regularly to learn from each other. We serve as a platform to bring governments, industry and the financial sector together to identify and accelerate CCUS projects and hubs across the world. This work is very rewarding, as we get to bring people together to learn and to make connections. It's also a very modern setting: our multi-country team works virtually - we have in fact never had a fixed office. Serving members from Asia-Pacific to North America sometimes makes days long - but it's never boring and no two days are the same! Show less

I was hired to the IEA in 2010 to set up a new CCS Unit. This was a wonderful opportunity to draw up the CCS strategy for the Agency, hire a team, and to work with world-class experts analysing various aspects of carbon capture, in both technology, economics, policy etc. I was hired to the IEA in 2010 to set up a new CCS Unit. This was a great window position to the changing power industry in Europe. What was a very traditional industry in the beginning went through several transformative years to embracing the significant change which swept across both market and environmental frameworks in Europe. I got to serve both the then "Markets" and the "Energy Policy and Generation" committees composed of industry experts. Good times.
