President of the Student Body committee. As president, my role is to: - Represent the society and preside over its meetings. - Call for regular and special meetings and general assemblies. - Contribute with other cabinet members to the planning of activities. - Authenticate by my signature all the proceedings of the society after the approval of the cabinet. - Jointly with the Student Services, set a date for elections of MSSS Officers and Year Representatives. - Manage the application process for the Specialty Interest Societies, and hold elections for their cabinet. - Call for the nomination of a Faculty Advisor - Notify Registry of new cabinet members at the beginning of the academic year and of any changes to the cabinet during the course of the year. - Restrain the members when engaged in debate within the rules of order. - Prepare the agenda for subsequent meetings, in coordination with the Secretary. - Sign jointly with the Treasurer, requests to withdraw money from the society account and provide reports, when required, to justify expenditures. - Face responsibility for society actions or activities that violate the Student Code of Conduct or Cypriot law. - Notify the Office of Student Services of any changes in cabinet members or Faculty Advisor. - Submit accurate minutes of all meetings to the Office of Student Services within one (1) week. - Attend monthly meetings with the Student Services and the Associate Dean for Students. - Be responsible for effective dissemination of decisions to the entire student body following all meetings. - Be accountable for submitting a summary of work performed to the Secretary every term for the Medical School Student Society newsletter.
