The standards are meant to increase reproducibility, be adaptable, improve the pipeline through FDA regulatory evaluations, and be able to interface with any digital platform in order to minimize disruption to existing workflow. We expect most users to fall into three categories: 1. Researchers who want to improve reproducibility, 2. clinical settings (precision medicine and genetic tests) that have a strong need to accurately communicate health information that includes NGS data, and 3. pharmaceutical and biotech companies who submit work to the FDA for regulatory review. We happily welcome input from every corner of the community that analyzes any manner of high throughput sequencing data, or otherwise carries out bioinformatic analyses pipelines. If you have thoughts or feedback that you'd like to share, please reach out to me directly! BioCompute is maturing beyond grant funding and into a Public-Private Partnership. We're currently exploring revenue models that will satisfy all end users. Our goal is to keep the standards open, but to make BioCompute a self-sustaining venture.
