I work on the Global Advocacy for the Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (GAP) project, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. I lead the advocacy and communications strategy and actively pursue policymakers and key decision makers within Ministries of Health of low- and middle- income countries that have not yet introduced PCV to discuss culturally-sensitive strategies to introduce the PCV and develop tools and resources tailored to their settings. I respond to countries' needs and work alongside in-country stakeholders to create and develop a range of advocacy materials for PCV introduction, including a comprehensive report on PCV in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, a country matrix detailing variables that can support and facilitate new vaccine introduction, and a video with interviews from key leaders working in pneumonia calling for action on closing the global PCV introduction gap.
