Alice Baker APFS

James is brilliant to work with. His expertise is second to none and his knowledge, creativity and attention to detail are invaluable to our company. He is an enthusiastic leader who constantly looks to share and gain insight into developing new ideas and process improvements across the businesses management systems. He is a very approachable and supportive individual, his communication skills both behind the scenes and customer facing are faultless and he has the ability to make the most advanced and technical subjects logical and interesting. James is incredibly driven and ambitious, instinctively authoritative and is never afraid to challenge himself. It would be very difficult to find a more dedicated and passionate person to work with. I hold him in the highest regard and would recommend him without hesitation.

I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the practice; everything from health and safety to management systems, it is my job to ensure that everyone else can do their jobs safely, efficiently and effectively. If I don’t do my job properly, no one else will be able to do theirs. At Morgan Williams & Co. the client and the client’s journey with us is at the centre of everything we do. Customer service is the foundation upon which the company was built and thrived. I pride myself on delivering the highest standard of customer service to our clients during their journey with us. Nothing is too much trouble. In addition, I work closely behind the scenes, with our advisers on client work, supporting investment research, due diligence and investment outlook. I am passionately forward looking and believe every system is never finished but in a constant state of evolution. It is my job to constantly be looking for ways to do things better, to be more efficient and most importantly to deliver better outcomes for our clients. Show less

I had a role which involved developing and delivering systems to deliver sustainable employment for long term unemployed benefit claimants for the Department for Work and Pensions’ Work Programme contract. The contract is a results based contract and beyond limited minimum standards providers are allowed substantial freedom to do whatever is effective to achieve long-term employment for the participants. I worked with my colleagues to design and deliver effective systems that achieved this goal. The process involves identifying barriers to employment and systematically tackling them through a variety of means, including signposting to external organisations, assistance with CV creation/letter writing/job searching. The role involves a significant amount of client contact and administrative duties, in addition to an in depth knowledge of the benefit system. Show less

Immediately after graduating I decided that I wanted to work for a period in the third sector, helping to give something back to the community and to put the theoretical management skills I had learned to the test. This role was perfect for me as it allowed me to do both. I was my job to work as part of a government scheme with young people, not in education, employment or training to complete works for the community. For example designing and constructing an allotment for disabled children at Wansbeck Allotments, something which thrives to this day. The young people were not paid to complete this task and instead received a modest training allowance, far below the minimum wage. It put to the test my motivational and leadership skills when having to get the best out of these young people, on a wet and windy Monday mornings. Show less
