Sudeley was the home of the last of Henry VIII's wives, Katherine Parr, and hosted many famous characters in history including Richard III, Lady Jane Grey, Queen Elizabeth I and a host of others. Besieged in the Civil War, then 'slighted'​ by the victorious Parliamentarians, it was left in ruins for many years but has been extensively restored.
