I assist Dr. Jonathan Powell, a professor of political science, in data collection for the CoupCast, a data-driven algorithm designed to make predictions regarding the time, place, and likelihood of military coups. I use various apps (particularly Microsoft Excel, and Google Drive) to record and analyze the data I find on the history and current events of countries (particularly those in West Africa) in helping develop the CoupCasts algorithm. I worked as an in-class Teaching Assistant for Professor Terry Breese, a professor of international relations, in his courses "The History of American Foreign Policy," (INR4104) and in "Honors Diplomacy" (4030H). In addition to traditional TA responsibilities, I worked with Professor Breese to design, organize, run, moderate, and grade numerous simulations of pivotal international conferences throughout history (such as the Yalta Conference, and the Congress of Vienna).
