• Orchestrated the preliminary needs analysis, fundraising, and resource procurement for a 5-day in-service teacher training to be delivered to (4) resource-insecure, rural school districts on the Science of Learning in 2018. • Conducted and analyzed real-time and post-training data from program participants to inform a comprehensive needs analysis for long-term programming. • Engaged program participants in an iterative, co-design process to create a 5-year, in-service teacher training program. Program participants’ unmet needs were surfaced through extensive groundwork in schools, and with school and government stakeholders. • Defined best practices for in-service teacher training for rural educators working in resource-insecure contexts through interviews with practitioners and desktop research. • Provided the client with clear, leading program recommendations and a program design, including real-time situational analyses regarding risks to and return on investment. ● District 16 was rapidly gentrifying, while suffering from a dramatic enrollment crisis in its public schools; it was largely was perceived as failing to meet student needs. ● Conducted interviews with District 16 parents, teachers, school leaders, community-based organizations, community businesses, policy-makers, and school board members about their experiences in their school district. ● Engineered and spearheaded a District-wide campaign, “BedStuy Beautiful,” to change the narrative about District 16’s offerings through (3) one-of-a-kind events, scaled in size and intensity over the course of 12 months. ● Due to the wildly successful BedStuy Beautiful campaign, District 16 has experienced a substantive increase in enrollment, and is well-known in New York City for its herculean turnaround. New York City’s Department of Education declared the campaign an Enrollment Best Practice; it has been replicated across all but one borough in NYC. Show less
