I am delighted to be working as an Ecology Teacher and Sustainability Coordinator at the Princeton Montessori School. There is much for me to learn but I love working with the students - 1-8th grades - and my very welcoming, friendly and professional colleagues. My aim is to inspire a love of nature and the world in my students and prepare them for the environmental challenges that they will face. I will also be creating and helping implement a Sustainability Strategy so that the school can truly live up to its environmental and sustainability principles. It's going to keep me busy!

The Green Hour was a weekly radio show that explored the issues that matter if the wider Delaware Valley region is to have a vibrant, economically viable, environmentally sustainable and healthy community, which I founded and hosted along with two colleagues. We sought to inform, educate and inspire through intelligent, mature and balanced discussions on important issues. We broadcast weekly for 6 months and had some great guests and really interesting shows - and you can still listen to them via the podcasts on http://www.greenhourradio.com Sadly, the radio show came to an end last year as I was simply unable to do the shows, undertaking the marketing and commercial aspects and home-school my son to a satisfactory level. I am pleased to say that it does live on in a series of live panel discussions that I am my fellow Green Hour hosts are organizing in partnership with the D&R Greenway Land Trust

I worked as an Associate for LCAWorks on a project to establish the 'Bioeconomy Institute' at Imperial College, London. This exciting project sought to establish a world-class institute whose working hypothesis would be that investments in bioenergy (including biofuels) can actually enhance food production, biodiversity protection and economic and social development, rather than act as a competitor. The Institute would seek to establish pathways to truly sustainable bioenergy investment. My role was to raise the initial start up funds for the Institute and act as Stakeholder manager. Unfortunately, despite a lot of interest, we were unable to raise the funds required and the project is currently dormant. .

I served in a number of different roles during my career, with postings in Uganda, the USA, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Brazil. I was Deputy Head of Mission and Charge d'Affaires in the DRC during two civil wars, where I effectively prepared for large-scale evacuations of UK and other nationals, engaged at the highest level with the DRC Government and gave quality and effective political reporting. I was the sole UK diplomat and Representative in Burundi where I effectively engaged with P5 and EU partners in the successful attempt to prevent Burundi following Rwanda into genocide. I took Special Unpaid Leave in November 2011 for family reasons and resigned for same in 2017.

We bought a farm in NE Brazil in 2007 and spent 2 years living there. We sought to introduce sustainable farming practices but then we were unable to return for 4 years. We have now been back and intend spending more time there. We plan to make the farm truly a model for sustainable, efficient and profitable farming in the NE Brazil.
