Responsible for the coordination, communication and smooth collaboration of the whole committee when organising academic talks and social activities. Most successful events/activities included:• Intercalation Event - led the organisation and setting up of the event inviting speakers to give an overview of the specific application process and course of respective intercalated degrees informing medical students of the various benefits of intercalation.• Movember Month Charity Event - raised awareness of men's health issues such us prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men's suicide. We successfully raised the amount of £669 which was donated to the Movember Foundation Charity.

Laparoscopic Training Research Programme Study Participant

Following my enlistment for the 14-month compulsory army service, I was successfully chosen to undertake a 4-month rigorous infantry training at Infantry Officer School to acquire the position of Cadet Officer. After the completion of my training, I was assigned as a platoon commander and acquired the position of Second Lieutenant. My duties included: • Led my platoon to military exercises and drills. • Responsible for personnel wellbeing and military equipment check • Assigned duties on a 24-hour basis and oversaw their implementation. • Reported to the commanding officer of our regiment and followed instructions being given.

Surgical Ward Shadowing

Shadowing healthcare professionals in the surgical ward allowed me to experience the patient's journey in detail, which included the surgical ward round, pre-operative assessment, operating theatre and post-operative care. I realised that provision of care entails extraordinary management and coordination from the medical staff in order to deliver and maintain high standards of care, which ultimately result to improved patient outcomes.
