A voluntary placement teaching in two rural primary schools, St Anthony's Girls and St Anthony's Boys in Malawi, planning lessons and delivering them independently to classes of 80+ pupils. I encourage class interaction by involving everyone in my activities and encouraging children to demonstrate on the chalkboard. I set homework and marked workbooks as well as wrote the end of term Maths test. I enjoyed interacting with the children out of school hours as I lived on the grounds of the Boys school so often helped with studies, played games and set up an after school French club. After my time volunteering in Malawi I travelled in a small group across land around Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, participating in lots of fun and adventurous activities and experiencing lots of culture and the African way of life!
