Overview
The Churn Project supports the most vulnerable and marginalised people of the Cirencester area. Our aims are to reduce isolation and improve well-being for local people, particularly for those who are lonely, at a point of transition in their lives or experiencing mental health issues. We support people at times of crisis. We directly support over 1200 people each year, focusing on people who are unemployed, vulnerable families and older people. We run more than 20 different activities each week ranging from antenatal classes, to work clubs, to memory clubs. The Churn is unique in supporting such a cross-section of our community, particularly the most disadvantaged. We operate right at the heart of our community and are often the only place people feel they can turn to. We listen to what people say they need, we know what solutions are available locally - through our own services and those of other partners - and we stick with people as long as they need us to. We are particularly proud of our relationships with the people we support and, over the years, have won their, and our community’s trust as an organisation that listens, responds and helps bring about positive change
