I led the innovation and digital team at the CBI. My team's work was focused on promoting the role that innovation, digital technologies, and creativity can play in contributing to UK prosperity, and influencing policy to help UK businesses to become technology leaders. To ensure we hear from a breadth of businesses, my team runs two board level standing committees: the Innovation Council and Tech group, and will shortly launch a Women in Tech network. I am also responsible for the CBI's partnership with Sharing Economy UK. As part of my role in representing business to government, I sit on a number of ministerial groups and expert panels including:- The science minister's High Level Stakeholder Group on EU exit, science, and innovation.- The digital minister's Digital Skills' Partnership.- The small business minister's SME growth forum.- The Made Smarter Review expert panel.

I worked on EEF's Economics team as part of the Policy Unit.I was responsible for EEF's monthly economic briefings, Pay Bulletin and contributed to several other EEF publications, both on the economy and trends in manufacturing. As part of our quarterly Manufacturing Outlook survey, I was responsible for updating EEF's economic forecasts. I was EEF's lead on Innovation Policy development, which included working on a series of Innovation Monitor reports in partnership with Vodafone. The reports looked at how manufacturers' innovation strategies were influenced by the changing economic climate and their views of the policy landscape.I regularly blogged on policy and economics at www.eef.org.uk/blog
