Entailed daily screening of study participants ensuring that they met the inclusion criteria stipulated by the HIV Vaccine Clinical Trial Network (HVTN). There were three separate studies, the HVTN 111, 120 and 705. Each connoted different HIV vaccines and phases. Each study required screening, which involved obtaining an informed consent permitting history-taking, physical and diagnostic examination determining further eligibility into the respective clinical trial.
