The Wheatbelt Development Commission is a Western Australian State Government Statutory Authority responsible to the Minister for Regional Development. Our role incorporates project management and program delivery, coordination of community dialogue, strategic planning, promotion of investment opportunities and partnerships with local government. The Board of Management is selected from the community, local governments and ministerial appointments. We are the key economic development agency for the region. The Commission partners, plans, facilitates and promotes development that results in the Wheatbelt being a better place to live, work, invest and visit.

Completed the Signature Program in 2005 where the Program’s experiences highlight the current challenges and opportunities facing Western Australia. Influential leaders are engaged to speak candidly under Chatham House Rule about each topic. The program is a series of carefully designed leadership experiences which inform, challenge and develop participants’ leadership capacity. The Signature Leadership Program includes: Residential opening and closing retreats Eleven full seminar days Two field trips to regional areas in Western Australia Site visits (optional) Pre-reading, action learning and reflections Specifically, the Signature Leadership Program is designed to enhance the capacity of participants as leaders, develop networks and provide the platform for them to be the best leader they can be in their life, organisation and community. Recognised as one of Australia’s premier leadership programs, it is an unmatched, life-changing experience. The Signature Leadership Program is for professionals who have the potential to become influential leaders in the West Australian community. Participants engage with some of the most dynamic and influential leaders in Western Australia, exploring the issues and challenges that face this unique State. They commit to a year-long journey of leadership experiences including retreats, leadership days, field trips and site visits, which stretch them intellectually and personally.
