  In 2013 I set up Sydney’s first Swedish eatery with two fellow Swedes. We named it Fika, a Swedish word that translates to "taking a break for coffee and a bite to eat". But Fika is fast becoming more than a coffee shop. Located in one of Manly's narrow laneways, Fika is a hub for all things Scandinavian – from delicious food and minimalist design to a cultural home away from home for Sydney's Swedish expats. My love for design and experience in branding shaped the way we built the brand. It has been an incredible experience to be involved in everything from the initial concept, interior design and graphics to running our social media and PR; right down to the pattern painted on the floor and its meaning. It has been a thrilling challenge to create a successful new business on a minimal budget. We’ve hosted Kikki.K's product launch, catered events for Funkis and enjoy collaborating with the local community, taking part in the ‘Market Lane Saturdays’ events. Fika has taught me so much already, and this is just the beginning. I enjoy pushing myself, learning new things and no longer fear the challenges ahead. I'm now focusing on broadening the possibilities for the business, looking for new opportunities see where we take our Swedish start-up. Show less

  I joined Interbrand, a team of 25, which then doubled by the end of the year. Working across many of the agencies' award-winning projects, surrounded by a team of extremely talented people I learned more than I could ever have imagined. With the aim of creating Stand Apart work, the tempo was ‘on’ from the moment I stepped though the doors. I was awarded the Interbrand 'StandApart' prize for my hard work and dedication to the agency and loved every moment of my time there.
