  My role in the Strategic and Business Advisory team concerned strategic and business planning, developing a service model for the Branch and providing executive support. The team also managed business process redesign and implementation and capability development and resourcing.

  In this role I was responsible for maintaining the Department’s treasury functions. I processed daily payment runs and journals in SAP and drawdowns and receipts in CBMS. I was also responsible for payroll accounting functions, including journals, adjustments and reconciliations. I supported other critical activities for the team relating to assets, appropriations, cash management and taxation, including the FBT return for the Department.

• Learning and Development Officer

  I assisted in the implementation and delivery of a number of high-calibre learning and development recruitment programs. I was also the chief study assistance coordinator for the Department. This involved providing policy advice to current study applicants or their managers and maintaining the relevant budgets, databases and related policies.

  I entered the public service through the Career Starter program. The program involves a 12 month training agenda designed to enhance corporate skills and build the foundations of a promising career. Within the 12 months I worked as a Business Officer. In this role I prepared and processed accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation duties.
