  I work as a Project Officer at the Multicultural Women's Shelter (MWS) at IWSA - a peak body NGO providing support services to immigrant and refugee women in Western Sydney & NSW who are experiencing domestic and family violence and/or homelessness. I am entrusted to independently intake and action referrals from the HoMWISS team and external groups, conducting psychosocial assessments, identifying risk and protective factors, and co-creating safety plans using evidence-based interventions and strategies. I employ a person-centred, rights and strengths-based approach to work collaboratively with MWS clients to identify and achieve long and short term goals, uphold and advocate for their rights, and increase safety factors to help them reclaim safety, dignity, independence and choice in their lives. This includes providing emotional and practical supports, assistance navigating the social and justice system, and encouraging self-care plans and strategies. I collaborate regularly with HoMWISS team members and other Community and Allied Health practitioners to promote a nuanced and holistic approach to recovery, and seek consultation for more complex or challenging cases, engaging in a consistently improved and reflective practice.

  As a multimedia creator and cultural worker, I enjoy using various storytelling modes to explore themes of social and environmental justice through a decolonial lens. I aim to create impactful or insightful work which provides some catharsis or space for marginalised peoples and communities. I have developed and produced a number of videopoems which have been published in Mascara Literary Review, Emerging Writers Festival, and Sad N Asian. I have also produced short videos for SBS Filipino. I create illustration and graphics for various projects, e.g. cover art, posters, promotional materials, creating these deliverables and outcomes within provided timeframes.I have proficiency in various online publishing platforms and video editing tools (FCPX, Da Vinci, some Premiere).
