Overview
Diversity Arts Australia is the national voice for cultural diversity in the arts and creative sector. We create conditions in which artists, makers, audiences, leaders, producers, and creators reflect, and draw inspiration from social and cultural diversity. We do this through advocacy, research, campaigns and strategic projects. Our focus is on ethnocultural diversity working to increase participation in the creative sector from communities of diverse sexuality, disability, age, socio-economic status, gender, and geography. We also apply a critical lens to our work which acknowledges the many ways that difference intersects across structural, social, political, cultural, and linguistic barriers to participation. Diversity Arts’ work is underpinned by a human-rights ethic and the belief that a truly diverse spectrum of creative expression and participation is fundamental to a democratic, inclusive and sustainable creative sector, and society. Diversity Arts Australia envisions a future where the arts and creative sectors reflect the cultural diversity of Australia
