  This summer I had the pleasure of working as a counselor for the Child Mind Institute's Summer Treatment Program. I worked as a counselor for CMI's 4-week intensive care program for kids struggling with ADHD and other behavioral and social difficulties. The Summer Program is a way for children to enhance their social and learning skills, while simultaneously developing emotional and environmental awareness. As a counselor for this program, I was paired with a different kid each day to help them learn skills for social interactions in classroom environments. Working with the Child Mind Institute this summer has helped me learn about what I am looking to do in the future and has laid a strong foundation for me to understand the realities of clinical work with children. I appreciate the entire CMI team for giving me this opportunity, and I hope I can work with them again in the future! Show less
