Jan 2022 - Present
Facilitating the "Alternative Protein Fundamentals Programme" from CUAPS and GFI, while crafting it into a university course at NMBU, and building the NMBU Alt. Protein Project. We'll organize extra guest lectures, speaker events, class discussions, workshops, capstone project, final presentations, and industry/lab visits at NMBU (if restrictions allow). The course will integrate online socials, networking events, and a careers fair. The course itself explores the science of alternative proteins - foods that represent viable alternatives to meat, fish, dairy, eggs, and other animal products. Students learn about the motivations behind transitioning away from animal products, the potential of alternatives from plants, fermentation, and cultivated meat, the science and technology enabling these products, and the environmental and socioeconomic drivers behind these market sectors.
