    • Tutor and Coordinator/Liaison
      • Oct 2014 - May 2018

The Tufts Literacy Corps is an organization that pairs Tufts students with local schools around the Somerville and Medford communities. I work at the West Medford Community Center with middle school kids. Apart from helping with homework, mostly math and science related, I supervise computer time and help foster interest for learning new languages at the West Medford Community Center. Every week there is a topic of discussion and we try and inspire the kids to become more involved with furthering their academic interests. This year, the center expanded and requires more help; therefore, as the coordinator for the center, I seek out more tutors that are willing to go out and help a less affluent community, organize schedules, and ensure students are actively helping. My work with TLC has allowed me to, not only give back to my community, but also realize how much I value helping others however I can. Show less
