My experience includes one-on-one tutoring, mentoring, and advisement in both reading and math along with technology and focusing on data driven instruction.85% of the family (student) population that I work with being on free or reduced-lunch, 80%-90% reading at least two grade levels below. I see a wide variety of students representing many schools with one thing in common: they are all by definition "at-risk." As the Reading Specialist, English/ Language Arts teacher and Behavior Intervention Program teacher, I interact with all staff members from every subject area, often collaborating on lesson planning.Aside from collaborating with all faculty, I am often charged with courses and course material that transfer in with a particular student. For example, I have advised and coached students in subjects ranging from French to Drama to Small Business. I consider myself to be one that wears many hats, a rover-type, and one that has to be highly adaptable between different subjects, grade levels, and curricula. I am also the coordinator, proctor, and instructor for all reading and math, pre- and post- online diagnostic assessments. I hold and distribute all diagnostic data and information for each student assigned to my current work site.
