Wellington Heritage Week is a community sourced heritage festival celebrating Wellington's people, places and stories. www.wellingtonheritageweek.co.nzMy role is to organise it, manage our volunteer teams and industry engagement, and to make decisions on the direction it will take into the future.

    • Festival Coordinator
      • May 2021 - Nov 2021

I'd worked with Wellington Heritage Week before when we ran some augmented reality tours of heritage in Wellington through Hiamo, but in 2021 I was able to become part of the team and get to know the festival more intimately.I helped our student interns with anything they needed, provided assistance with the website, gave guidance about engagement with the heritage sector, and more during my time in this role.

For Purpose has me working with a team of developers, designers, and more to build websites for charities, non-profits, and other organisations working for great causes. My role has me working as an intermediate full stack, but mostly front end, developer. I am building Liquid templates and performing CMS setup for Nation Builder websites. My role at Hiamo is varied, ranging from marketing and sales all the way through to Augmented Reality app development and 3D modelling. Mixing education, heritage storytelling, and technology has become a passion for me. My primary goal in this role is to help share stories and knowledge in an accurate, respectful, and impactful manner. I guide the company towards achieving our goals of offering new ways for people to engage with historic sites, and using augmented reality to push industries forward. Hiamo was founded when the team and I joined Mahuki, Te Papa's business accelerator for the culture and heritage space, which allowed to us all learning a great deal in a short space of time. I am continuing this role, and the company itself, by reaching out for new business, engaging with the heritage sector (and beyond!), and developing a number of innovative augmented reality experiences.
