Implementation of an experimental protocol to quantify the soil ingestion by bulls Creoles tethering according to two factors, soil humidity and daily herbage allowance. The project runs for three mon between February and may. The rest of my work was to statistically analyze the results, to interpret the results and to write a report with the objective of replacing the results in a broader context. Sustainable pollution by chlordecone in the French West Indies. The soil matrix is the main way of contamination our experience is directly link with this thematic. During the experimental phase I took care of the organization as well as daily tasks such as moving animals, collecting dung, collecting grass, collecting soil, measuring grass heights, evaluating soil humidity via probes, irrigation management, grass mowing management, weighing of animals, weighing and sample tracking (labeling), sample and organization of Excel files representing part of our first results. The second phase of this internship was devoted to an important bibliography and writing work. During this phase I also participated in the analyzes of total nitrogenous matter (forages and feces) and ensured the good follow-up of the samples analyzed in external laboratories. During this experience my supervisor left me a lot of autonomy which allowed me to understand the importance of a good organization and a good management of a team. Being connected with several actors I also learned to make daily assessments of my progress. This experience really allowed me to apply everything I learned during my studies and for that I especially thank my tutor. Show less

Realization of a territorial study of the Porto-Novo lagoon in collaboration with the agglomeration of Cergy-Pontoise, the town hall of Porto-Novo and the French development agency (AFD). With my group composed of 8 other engineers students we carried out a territorial study as part of Porto-Novo green city project (http://carte.afd.fr/afd/fr/projet/porto-novo-ville-verte- Amenage-and-protect-the-lagoon-banks) on the eastern bank of the Porto-Novo lagoon. This study concerned the analysis of four main themes: agriculture, hydrology, land and biodiversity. In order to carry out our mission we spent 7 weeks on the ground during which we carried out the local population surveys (institution and inhabitants). The surveys have allowed me to acquire a certain approach to human contact which according to the context is not always easy to approach. This experience also allowed us to better understand the expectations and positioning of the population in relation to the project. This is a very important aspect for me because in some cases it can represent a considerable obstacle to the successful realization of the project. This type of participatory project has only recently emerged in development agencies and is essential to me. Being under the aegis of the town hall of Porto Novo and having attended the steering committee of the project I learned all the stakes of the coordination of the actors for the success of the project. I learned to adapt my speech according to the person in front of me, the positioning chosen is not the same according to the actor. Besides this phase of the survey, an important work of transcription of the interviews, selection of information and writing was implemented. Presented at our school and during the Sustainable Development Days, our work represented the start-up phase of this major project. Show less

The Finca Mono Verde is a farm whose production system is based on the principle of Permaculture. In a permacultural system where human intervention is limited, strategies for soil fertilization and pest control are a crucial issue in crop production. The study aimed to establish and evaluate different organic fertilizers and different ways of pest control. This was carried out on market gardening, cocoa and coffee crops. So I was able to test the effects and impacts of each technique on several plant species and determine the spectrum of action of each. On the other hand, I have set up an experiment on radishes and peppers crops. The objective was to test each of the fertilizers and biofertilizers on each crop in a context where the environmental conditions were identical and controllable. The results observed in this study were able to show the most appropriate strategies for each crop. In addition to satisfying the needs of the crops, the means of fertilization and pest control had to meet other constraints. Considering cocoa and coffee crops are not yet productive, the farm currently generates low income. The different strategies therefore had to simultaneously efficient, inexpensive and meets the various environmental constraints. I therefore privileged the use of local and available resources so that my studies meets the requirements of the Finca and its owners. My work will be used by my tutor. The aim is to convince the local populations through a pedagogical initiation that the cultivation of subsistence crops can be achieved by limiting as much as possible the chemical inputs. Show less
