Oct 2022 - Present
I support digital transformation for Community Services, championing UX on an interdisciplinary team. As point on business analytics, research, and interaction design, I've played a key role in our agency's post-COVID digital transformation. My mission is to bring the power of human-centered design to the social sector. Co-design perspective: I'm embedded in the Housing team & facilitate activities like: - Brainstorming & mind mapping - IA studies (e.g. OptimalWorkshop card sorts, tree tests) - Usability & time testingUsing no/low-code, I build forms to reflect contract requirements and create a smooth user experience. Forms use logic to send personalized emails, solicit satisfaction feedback, send notifications/reminders. My work brought enrollment completion time down from 1.5+ hrs (after a commute) to under 10mins (from anywhere).I represent design and end state vision on our Salesforce dev team, supporting project management by stocking/prioritizing our backlog. I help translate user flows into the language of technical build requirements. I've served as internal project lead for several pro-bono projects. I love working with volunteers to solve problems with constraints that spur creativity. Examples: - Using JavaScript to modify Program Enrollment forms, reducing user errors and cognitive load - 10-week UCD project with Blink UX to prototype an app that empowers families to find, save, and share community resources Show less

Stability Resource Specialist
-
Sep 2017 - Dec 2019
As Specialist in Hopelink's pilot Financial Resiliency Program, I met 1:1 with individuals in crisis to provide financial assistance and connect people to resources. Using a holistic needs assessment to provide quality, I provided client-centered service, including resource referral, goal setting, financial coaching, and systems navigation. In this role, I represented our program as a SME (subject matter expert) on cross-functional teams to improve policy, create new client- and staff-facing tools, implement a new client database, bolster partnerships within our agency, and build coalitions with other service providers. I also developed and led workshops for staff on Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) -related topics, such as responding to microaggressions, refugee & asylee experiences, "solidarity" vs "charity" frameworks, and applied transgender competency. I contributed to a monthly All-Staff newsletter on EDI topics to support staff learning. Show less

Founding Director

Mar 2015 - Jun 2019
As founding organizer of Seattle Nonbinary Collective, I created community with thousands of queer people throughout the Seattle area and globally. My roles included program development, volunteer management, brand creation, social media management, communications, public relations, group facilitation, interagency collaboration, event planning, donor relations, and grant writing. We hosted biweekly social meetups, monthly seasonal events, monthly workshops with attendees of all ages, and two summer camps. What started as my & my friends' passion project left a community resource that endures beyond my leadership. Show less

Ready & Resilient Financial Coach (AmeriCorps)
-
Sep 2016 - Jul 2017
Ready & Resilient (later Benefits Hub) was a pilot program to provide financial coaching and access to benefits enrollment to students at community colleges. I worked between teams at United Way and Seattle Central College to increase access to community resources & public benefit, promote financial resiliency through workshops and budget/credit coaching. I worked deeply with 30 students and community referrals in a 1:1 capacity, and used this experience to create a custom 10-12 sheet workbook that could be individualized for use with each client. Summer Meal Site Supervisor
-
Jun 2015 - Aug 2016
On a team of other Americorps members and volunteers, I worked to promote summertime food security for low-income youth by distributing meals to 20-30 children per day in Seattle Parks. I also developed and supervised activities, including both structured educational curricula and drop-in games. I was responsible for recording detailed service data in an online database and physical log book at the conclusion of each service day. In downtown parks, my work also involved frequent interaction with and service of transient & homeless youth and adults. Show less
