Rekom Biotech is a biotechnology company focused in the design and production of validated biomarkers for human and animal infectious diseases, versatile recombinant antigens which can be used as raw material for the elaboration of diagnostic test by using different platforms: ELISA (DAGS), Point of care testing, protein microarrays, CLIA, western blot, line blot…etcThis company also is involved in the design and production of DNA controls (plasmid DNAs) which correspond to infectious microorganisms for using as internal amplification controls and positive controls in immune-qPCR studies. We amplify and clone in plasmid big genes from different infectious microorganisms which can be used in PCR reactions: CMV, EBV, leptospira, parvovirus, T. cruzi…etc. For the production of Internal Amplification Controls (IACs) we perform a custom-made design. An IAC is a non-target DNA sequence present in the very same sample tube, which is co-amplified simultaneously with the target sequence, by using the same primers. In a PCR with an IAC, a control signal will always be produced when there is no target sequence present. The company also offers R&D support regarding genomic design and process development in order to perform your native and/or recombinant target protein purification focused in: IVD assay ellaboration, antibody production, in vitro synthesis processes, pull-down experiments…etc

    • Molecular Biology Manager
      • 2002 - Sep 2010

Head of the Molecular Biology department of the company which was focused in the “in-house” design and production of recombinant antigens for supplying the IVD assays developed in the company. Polishing of native antigens purification procedures, purification of monoclonal and polyclonal Ab, design and elaboration of plasmid DNAs as positive controls, etc. Direction of two Doctoral PhD.
