Baseball Social Media Manager
-
Feb 2012 - Aug 2015
During my freshman year at Calvin while on the baseball team, I was approached by the members of the leadership team to create a Facebook page for families who could not attend games. In the first year, the page had just over 100 Fans. In the middle of the season I recruited a parent who was taking photos to assist me with administration and photo management. In 2013 we reached 200 likes and I also created a Twitter account that got about 150 followers. I ran them while attending practices and games as a player. In 2014 with the help of one other member, we went from just over 200 Fans on Facebook to just over 400. I went from being a player to a manager, where I helped set up practices and execute other operational activities at Coach's request. I created a YouTube account that has 10+ subscribers and one video with 100K+ views. Over the summer, I opened an Instagram account for the team.By utilizing different media, I plan to raise awareness for games and enhance the experience for fans who are not able to make the games and players who want to relive memories of such a great community. I plan to pass the responsibilities on after I graduate. Show less
