We are an independent local charity that works for and with children and young people and their families. We deliver a wide range of children’s and youth work, extended services and members activities. YMCA Barnsley aims to empower young people by involving them in activities that stimulate, challenge and enable them to realise their potential and participate fully in their communities. We provide a safe and welcoming space and positive activities for children and young people and support them so they can belong, contribute and thrive in their communities. Room Hire: We provide affordable, quality room hire for community groups, charities and the general public. We have a large Sports Hall, Community Hall and small training room for hire. Homeless Support: We use the resources we have available to support those who are homeless and vulnerable through offering shower facilities and clothes washing and drying, 8am - 9am each weekday. We have been an active part of our community since 1857 and we are keen to ensure a legacy for the future as a valued deliverer of services and facilities.
