XYZ is an urban development studio in Detroit. Our work strives to respond sensitively to the context which surrounds, and history that informs it. We employ a human-scaled approach to urbanism, combining the fundamentals of city-building with contemporary design sensibilities. To succeed is to formulate concise yet nimble solutions that contribute to a landscape that is not only beautiful and lush, but equal parts meticulous and raw; to strengthen community and connectivity through these spaces; to instill a sense of calm, purpose, and presence in those who inhabit them.
