Overview

The World Sports Alliance IGO (“Alliance”), is an Intergovernmental Organization organized under the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties of 1969. The Alliance was constituted on the 29th day of May 2007 when its 3 founding Member-States, Morocco, Niger and the Dominican Republic executed the Rabat Declaration ( E/2007/NGO/1) referred to as its constitutive Act. Our mission is to use sport as a catalyst to design and implement programs for at‐risk youth, to facilitate the achievement of the SDGs through an integrated approach. So the citizens of our Member-States can live better lives. Today, the Alliance counts 34 Fully-Fledged Member-States who collectively own the Alliance. The Alliance is currently being restructured by the International Innovation Agency. The restructuring of the Alliance is being implemented under the leadership of Dr Gilles Klein, Prof. Zahid Haque and Mr Malick Maachi and under the supervision of the Agency since March 22nd 2022 and until the first Alliance General Assembly. The first General Assembly of the Alliance will be held in Dubai on the 29th day of November 2023 in conjunction with the International Innovation Conference. Ministers will elect the new President, appoint the Secretary General and approve the location of the World Center of Excellence (WCE) and the Headquarters.
