The World Coalition Against the Death Penalty brings together dozens of NGOs, bar associations, local authorities and trade unions from the five continents. It was founded in 2002 in Rome. Its aim is to strengthen the international dimension of the fight against capital punishment. It is the promoter of World Day Against the Death Penalty, which is held every year on October 10.
