Overview

Women4IT addresses the structural transformation of the labour market due to the growing digital society in which there are significantly less women than men. This digital gap will lead to more women left out of the digital economy, widening the gender gap. The main objective of the project is to develop the digital competences of young women who are at risk of exclusion from the labour market thus improving their employability. Women4IT is a multi-stakeholder partnership funded by the EEA Grants and the Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment. The project is supported by 9 Partners from across Europe and various sectors. The project will be implemented in 7 countries: Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Romania and Spain. Partner from Norway ECWT will be actively engaged in supporting the programme due to its expertise in the area of women and ICT jobs. 700 young women are defined as direct target beneficiaries with immediate impact. End beneficiaries with long term impact will include all the youth population and the stakeholders of the labour market: employers, private and public training providers, recruitment agencies, local governments and communities and NGOs. Together, we want to assist each young woman to take successful steps into digital job-related employment. This is crucial for the European industry to remain competitive in the face of rapid advances by its competitors, and for European society to remain inclusive in the digital age.
