Across the world ‘status quo’ leadership is turning women away from leading, at a time when their knowledge, expertise and insights are needed more than ever. Women Emerging (WE) is a non-profit movement founded in 2020 and has connected thousands of women across the world via an online community and podcast. WE are committed to supporting, connecting and empowering women to lead in a way that works for them. As a result, in 2022, WE Founder, Julia Middleton, led a group of 24 women from around the world - spanning different sectors, ages, cultures and backgrounds - on an Expedition to discover ‘an approach to leadership that resonated with women’. Rather than develop ‘an approach’, the group produced a ‘map’, now captured in the book – ‘If that’s leading I’m in’ – which acts as an accessible and truly global expedition guide. Women Emerging are committed to sharing this ‘map’ and supporting women the world over to embark on their own expeditions.
