Woke Chicago is a black led, initiative based non-profit organization formed in response to 2020's cries for racial injustice in America & COVID-19's impact on communities of color. We work to disrupt inequity in well-being by creating access to trauma-informed movement and mindfulness programs within under-resourced Chicago communities and schools. Our research found that access to mindful movement instruction is extremely limited & sometimes non-existent in Chicago neighborhoods of color & low income... We strive to create change from the inside out./Woke Chicago is working hard to re-invent a wellness culture /of impact that is rooted in unity, equity, and love.
