Higher Education

Overview

www.wmwe.org Are you a woman in engineering industry interested in mentoring a woman undergraduate majoring in engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas? Shoot our organization a message on our Facebook, facebook.com/wmwewatutd, or send us an email at wmweatutd@gmail.com. We are always looking for new mentors as we have a high demand from our organization's student members! ABOUT WMWE: Founded in the summer of 2016 at the University of Texas at Dallas, Women Mentoring Women in Engineering is a student-run, collegiate mentoring organization. We create longterm mentorships between women in engineering industry or academia and undergraduate women in engineering. Our organization is just starting, so we are always looking for opportunities to speak about the organization and to recruit more professional women mentors in the DFW area. You may be wondering why it is necessary to found and develop a new collegiate organization for women in STEM. WMWE has a niche in college campuses across America. The framework of our organization is unique in that we encourage one-on-one, longterm mentoring relationships between our mentors and mentees. This means that we encourage our mentors and mentees to meet with each other once a month, and to continue this mentoring relationship for as long as the undergraduate mentee is in college. And, as a completely student-run and student-led organization, our club, an official UT Dallas organization, gives our officers a chance to manage projects and begin networking before even beginning their careers.
