Overview

The only agency of its kind in Will County, the Will County Children's Advocacy Center is a hybrid government/private 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow to provide hope, healing and justice for children (and non-offending family members) who have endured physical and sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, child pornography, neglect, and exposure to violence. The Will County Children's Advocacy Center is fully accredited by the National Children’s Alliance and is a proud United Way of Will County partner agency that serves 560+ new children, annually. Multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) that include prosecutors, law enforcement detectives, DCFS investigators, forensic interviewers, family advocates, medical professionals, and trauma-focused therapists work together in a child-friendly facility, to reduce trauma and identify resources, so that children and families may begin the healing process. Services provided: * Forensic Interviews * Advocacy Services * Trauma-Informed Mental Health Therapy * Medical Exams (in collaboration with Edward Hospital Care Center) * Child Pornography & Exploitation Victim Services * Paws-4-Kids Canine Advocates State's Attorney Glasgow established the Will County CAC as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization so that it would not impact Will County taxpayers. As a result, the Will County CAC relies on private and public grants, donations and community fundraisers like the popular MEN WHO COOK fundraiser to provide its important services.
