Overview

Beautiful tranquil 18 hole parkland course which threads its way through magnificent mature trees and provides a fair challenge, mastered by few. The Club dates back to 1898. It is located within reach of Manchester, the Golden Coast of Southport and the Royals - Birkdale, Lytham and Liverpool. As the oldest Club in Wigan, and as you would expect from a premier club, we offer a quality course and club house facilities with a variety of socials. Whilst only a few miles from both the M6 and M61, the only sound is one of the countryside. Membership policy is to control numbers so members can enjoy the course without queuing. This also ensures an excellent playing surface. Membership is available in certain categories, including corporate. Visitors are most welcome, with the visit arranged through our PGA Golf Manager. We are pleased to accommodate anything up to large charity / corporate days. We are proud to have recently hosted the Lancashire PGA Day, Lancashire Amateur Championships, Wigan Youth Zone and Wigan Boys and Girls Club, Joining Jack and Heartbeat Charity Days. The club house is Arley Hall, an historic building surrounded by a 12th century moat. Lawns edge the moat, which together with the Hall, make for a truly relaxing location to debate a round of golf, enjoy the traditional food and bar or have an away day.
