Overview

Founded in 2011 by students of Western Law, The Western Journal of Legal Studies is an online, student-edited, open-access law review dedicated to the publication of original, intellectually-provocative, and academically rigorous contributions to knowledge about law and legal issues. Toward this goal, the editors are pleased to welcome submissions reflecting a diversity of intellectual perspectives and approaches to legal scholarship. In working to promote legal scholarship in Canada, the WJLS provides the opportunity for Western Law students to engage in the critical assessment, editorial preparation, and final publication of academic essays on pressing legal topics. The editors welcome high-quality submissions from students, lawyers and professional academics. The WJLS also operates Chambers: https://ojs.lib.uwo.ca/index.php/uwojls/announcement Chambers serves as a blog-style platform to publish brief case commentaries, opinions, and articles that deal with noteworthy legal topics. The goal of Chambers is to serve as a platform for Canadian law students and recent graduates to publish their thoughts quickly and easily, while also promoting discussion amongst Canadian law students. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– NOTABLE EXTERNAL CITATIONS: Wilson v Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd, [2016] 1 SCR 770 Fantl v Transamerica Life Canada, 2016 ONCA 633 Toney v Toney Estate, 2018 NSSC 179 R v Oar, 2018 ABPC 245 Berube c.
