The company was founded at the end of the 50s as smithy Swinkels in Aalst/Waalre (Netherlands), at the beginning of the 60s the company was taken over by Mr. van Weert who gave it the name Wegra (from Weert Graafmachines). Some 10 years later the company moved to Valkenswaard (The Netherlands). Due to the growing demand for sheet metal parts, it was decided to open a new branch in Overpelt (Belgium). Here they could fully concentrate on the production of high-quality sheet metal work. Since 1993 the company has been in the hands of the current management. The company has gone through a development from a forge-like workshop through the building of machines on order to a fully-fledged machine factory with its "own" products. At present, Wegra is primarily known as a high-quality supplier, for a wide range of customers within our national borders and beyond, and parts are manufactured in limited series or by the piece. Wegra is a specialist in fine sheet metal work and machine construction, in particular for the food sector.
