WEDOS was founded in 2010 and within 31 months became the largest web hosting provider in the Czech Republic. In the following years, our market share increased and our services became popular in other countries. With success came an increase in cyber attacks. In 2021 and 2022, attacks on us exceeded 300 Gbps and we realized that the only way to survive was to build a massive global infrastructure where we could detect and filter attacks directly in a cetain location. And so the WEDOS Global infrastructure was born. We currently have over 1000 physical servers in 24 locations in 17 countries on 5 continents with over 2000 Gbps of connectivity. We can protect large projects as well as small personal sites and at the same price. At WEDOS Global we run a number of services. The most popular is WEDOS Global Protection, which protects you from classic L3/L4 DDoS attacks and application (L7) layer threats. Because the service is built as a reverse proxy, it allows us to perform in-depth traffic analysis. Thus, we can not only detect an attack in real time, but also distinguish a real visitor from a malicious bot. As a nice bonus, the service automatically stores static content of your site in the locations with the most active users. Another service is WEDOS Zone, which is BGP AnyCast. It will significantly improve your website's performance because the DNS closest to the visitor always responds to a query. The service is currently in closed beta testing.
