Overview

The Washington and Lee Journal of Civil Rights and Social Justice (“JCRSJ”) is a biannual scholarly publication with an additional book memorializing the Journal’s annual symposium. The Journal’s primary focus is on legal issues that affect historically underrepresented communities. JCRSJ publishes articles covering a wide variety of subject matters and issues, including those related to criminal justice, education, healthcare, family law, the environment, public welfare, and international civil rights. The Journal seeks to provide a space for diverse perspectives to expand upon current legal and social discourse. Through its scholarly publications, JCRSJ hopes that readers will come away with a better understanding of legal issues that impact our greater society.
