Wallnut

Overview

In 2017, three “wall nuts” were brought together by a simple idea… "Anything that is truly beautiful gets better with time.'' This idea meant that authenticity, simple design and good quality were the bare minimum but to truly make a “Wallnut” it had to be imbued with Wabi-sabi. “Wabi-sabi” is a way of living that focuses on finding beauty within the imperfections of life and peacefully accepting the natural cycle of ageing. Kind of like the dappled, characterful shell of a walnut. We wanted everything we create to live up to this vision which is why every Wallnut incorporates upcycling (transforming old materials into something more beautiful). Often when a home is demolished the antique, time-aged ceilings or foot-worn parquet floors are destroyed or discarded as well. Our lead designer, Hardlife, works with these beautifully aged materials to give them a second life. When you purchase a Wallnut you are buying decor with character. Turn your wall into a story.
