Description While there is nothing wrong with reducing stress, sleeping better, or boosting productivity, at Waking Up we have a very different focus. Our goal is to fundamentally change the way our users see the world—and to improve their lives in the process. We bring together modern teachers, scientists, and scholars to pressure-test ancient wisdom in ways that no other resource does. Our areas of expertise include mindfulness, Zen, Advaita, neuroscience, psychedelics, contemporary ethics, Stoicism, effective altruism—and we will explore new territory whenever inspiration strikes. But our goal is always to produce a radical shift in perspective. So join Sam Harris—neuroscientist, philosopher, and best-selling author—on a meditation course for beginners and experienced meditators alike. What makes Waking Up different? There are hundreds of meditation apps on the market, and several do a fine job of teaching the basic principles of mindfulness. But Waking Up dives deeper, with both a “Practice” and an accompanying “Theory” section that supports your practice of meditation.
