WA Sandalwood Plantations Pty Ltd (WASP) is a company dedicated to establishing and managing commercial plantations of Western Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) on behalf of institutional, corporate and private investors. Founded in 2001, the company now manages over 13,000 hectares of sandalwood plantations and is the world’s largest manager of Santalum spicatum assets. WASP’s primary focus is the production of sustainable sandalwood timber, sandalwood oil and sandalwood nut oil for both the traditional (essential oils, incense, religious, ceremonial & fragrance) and emerging (pharmaceutical, cosmetic & nutraceutical) markets globally. Spicatum is one of the world's most valuable hardwoods. WASP's operations are accredited by PEFC (world's largest forest certification system) and the Australian Forestry Standard.
