Overview

We work with children in care and care leavers, and other young people who are reliant on the state for their rights and wellbeing. We are committed to reducing the discrimination and inequality that these children face. We support young people to get their voices heard and opinions taken into account, and access what is rightfully theirs, improving their lives and experience of the care system. As well as working with young people, we work directly with Local Authorities and care providers to improve their practices, and campaign for systematic change at a national level, so that things are improved for future generations of children. We strive for a society which recognises and willingly accepts its responsibilities to children and young people, where the inequalities and discrimination they currently face have been eradicated. Where those children and young people are fully engaged in all decisions that are made about their lives. Where the views, needs and feelings that they express are at the core of those decisions. We listen to children and young peoples’ individual experiences and we work alongside them to address the issues that are important to them. We pool those experiences with our professional expertise to amplify their voices in order to challenge and change the policies and practices that discriminate against them and to develop services that support them.
